Connecting GoDaddy / Zoho mailboxes to Nylas

 

Problem

Users encounter difficulties when attempting to connect GoDaddy or Zoho mailboxes to Nylas, despite entering the correct credentials. This issue often arises because users select their email provider from a pre-defined list during the authentication process.

 

Solution: Authentication via IMAP Protocol

To successfully connect GoDaddy or Zoho mailboxes to Nylas, it is recommended to use the IMAP protocol during authentication. 

  1. Initiate the Authentication Process

  2. Select Provider Option: When prompted to choose an email provider, select the option "See all providers"



  3. Choose Custom IMAP Settings: From the list of options, choose "Custom IMAP settings". This will allow you to enter specific server settings required for your GoDaddy or Zoho mailbox.




  4. Input Settings:

    • Email Address: Enter your full email address.

    • Password: For Zoho mailboxes, it is essential to generate and use an app-specific password instead of your regular account password. App password

    • Server Settings: Enter the IMAP & SMTP settings as provided by your email administrator or service provider. These settings include the IMAP and SMTP server address and port.

    • If you are unsure of the IMAP and SMTP server settings, contact your email administrator or consult the help documentation provided by GoDaddy or Zoho.
