Is it possible to capture the alias and the account's original email address?

This is not possible, the provider does not have this information, an email object has no alias or account attribute, only sender / To.

If they have an alias, you can detect this at the application level when where they enter a different From, then in your internal database mark the message_id in the response of /send.
