Google Calendar Invitations coming from "Unknown Sender"

Recently, Google implemented a new policy to tackle spam and improve user experience. This policy affects all scheduling tools, including Nylas.

Now, when you set up calendar invitations, there is a small change. If you haven't had any previous interaction with your invitee, the event will not be automatically added to their calendar.

But don't worry, it's still super easy for them to confirm their booking. All they need to do is click on a confirmation link in their email inbox. Once they do that, the event will be added to their calendar seamlessly.

We believe this new policy will help ensure that all calendar events are relevant and meaningful.

Here are some easy steps on how to allow calendar invitations to be added automatically within your Google Calendar.

  1. First, click on the Settings option located on the top right-hand side of your Google calendar.
  2. Next, under the General section, select Event Settings.
  3. Finally, under Add Invitations to my calendar, simply choose From everyone.
  4. You can also click on the "I know the sender" button when it appears. This will add the email address to your Google Calendar's safe senders list. You can find more information about this feature here.
  5. Once you've completed this step, all you need to do is click "Yes" on the event invitation. This will ensure that the event is added to your Google Calendar.

That's it! You're all set to receive and automatically add calendar invitations.
