Nylas scheduler confirmation methods: Differences between 'external', 'manual', and 'automatic'.

 

Nylas Scheduler provides external, manual, and automatic confirmation methods to aid users in making informed choices based on their specific needs.

In Nylas Scheduler, the confirmation_method parameter dictates the flow of event booking. Each method offers a different level of automation and interaction from Nylas, allowing for a tailored scheduling experience.

 

1. External Booking Flow (external)
When the  confirmation_method is set to external, the user application controls the entire booking process. In this mode:

  • Your application manages event creation and email notifications.
  • Nylas does not intervene in event creation or email sending.
  • Nylas Scheduler is used to showcase only the available timeslots based on the scheduler configuration, with the application handling the rest of the booking flow.

Key Features:

  •  The customer application has full control over the booking flow.
  •  No automatic event creation or email sending from Nylas.

 

2. Manual Booking Flow (manual)
The manual setting confirmation_method brings Nylas back into the booking equation:

  • Nylas creates a proposal event for the participants.
  • Email notifications are sent based on the Scheduler configuration.
  • Event booking is finalized once the organizer confirms the booking.

Key Features:

  • Nylas handles event creation and email notifications.
  • Booking confirmation is required from the organizer.

 

3. Automatic Booking Flow (automatic)
With confirmation_method set to automatic , the booking process is fully automated with Nylas:

  • Events are automatically created on the participant’s calendar using Nylas.
  • Email notifications are sent based on the Scheduler configuration.
  • No additional confirmation is needed from the organizer.

  • No need for manual booking confirmation.
